Transfer Limits and Status
Most of the time you don't need this page: when the app says Route open, just press Beam. This page explains what the app tells you when a route is busy, paused or can't be checked, and what happens after you send.
Limits per transfer
Each route has an upper and lower limit you can send in one transfer. We warn you when the amount you're requesting falls outside of the limit.
Why a transfer can take longer
As a security measure, large transfers wait for a set time before they are released, and a transfer can wait while the other side has no room or is paused. Once that clears, it can be completed. Nothing is lost while it waits.
Pauses
A route can be paused for new transfers. Transfers already sent are not affected.
Before you send
- This is an estimate, not a reservation. Concurrent transfers can change queue position and available capacity.
- A committed transfer cannot be cancelled or refunded by the user.
- The bridge fee is not refunded after commitment.
The route check
Under the amount, the app checks the route and shows one line:
| Line | What it means | What you can do |
|---|---|---|
| Route open | Your amount fits right now. | Press Beam. |
| This transfer may take longer | You can send it, but it may wait at the other side first: large transfers wait a set time before release, and a transfer waits while the other side has no room or is paused. The estimated time shows the wait when it is known. | Tap the line to see why. You can still send. |
| Amount too large for this route right now | The route can't take this amount at the moment. | Tap the line. If a smaller amount fits, the app offers it as a button. Nothing changes until you tap it. |
| Route paused | New transfers on this route are stopped for now. Transfers already sent are not affected. | Try again later. |
| Couldn't check route limits | The app couldn't read the route just now. | Tap Retry, or send anyway: the limits are checked again right before you sign, and the bridge itself makes the final decision. |
| This route isn't supported yet | This app can't send on this route yet. | Choose another route. |
If your amount is below the minimum or above the maximum for one transfer, the app says so under the amount field, for example "Minimum 1 USDC" or "Maximum 5,000 USDC per transfer".
The route check is a guide, not a promise. A green or amber line means you can try; it holds no room for you, and the bridge makes the final decision when your transfer runs.
The app never splits a transfer and never changes your amount on its own.
Tap the info button next to Route open to see this route's current numbers: the per-transfer limits, about how much room is left, and the bridge fee. The room left is an estimate; another transfer can use it before yours is sent.
When you press Beam
The confirm step shows the bridge fee next to the gas and time estimates, and one line:
Once sent, a transfer can't be cancelled. The bridge fee isn't refunded.
Tap Details to read the three points under Before you send. The bridge fee is paid on top of the amount, in the source network's native currency, the one you pay gas with (see Supported Networks); network gas is extra.
Right before your wallet is asked to sign, the app checks the route once more. If the route can no longer take the transfer, nothing is sent to your wallet and the app tells you why. If something changed (for example, the transfer would now take longer), the app shows it and asks you to confirm again.
If another transfer used the room first, the bridge refuses yours when it runs. Then nothing was sent and no bridge fee was kept; network gas may have been charged. The app checks the route again and, if a smaller amount fits, offers it.
After you send
After you confirm, the beam in the app shows where your transfer is: your side (Approve, Sending, Sent), the beam between (Confirming) and the other side (Waiting, Delivering, Delivered). One sentence under it says what is happening. The same words show in Activity and on the transaction's page.
If the other side makes your transfer wait, its end of the beam turns amber:
| You see | What it means |
|---|---|
| Queued | Your transfer arrived and waits in line at the other side, for a set time (large transfers) or for room. The sentence says until when. Once it is ready, the app shows a Complete transfer button. |
| On hold | The other side can't pay it out yet, and the sentence says why: it has no room for the token right now, it isn't set up for the token yet, or it is restoring the token's backing. Once that clears, the app shows a Retry button. A retry pays the same recipient the same amount. |
| Paused | Transfers into the other side are paused. Yours waits there and can be completed once they resume. |
| Unknown | The app couldn't check the other side just now. Your transfer is still on its way; the app checks again. |
| Closed | Rare. A transfer that could never be paid as addressed was closed by a published repair, which says what happens next. |
A sent transfer is never cancelled or refunded. Waiting or on hold is not a failure, and nothing is lost while it waits.
Anyone can press Complete transfer or Retry, including you. Completing a queued or held transfer charges no protocol fee; your wallet pays only the network fee. Tap Details for when it can be completed, its place in line when others are ahead, and the transfer's id.
